India - A Place of Color The mention of India conjures images as perhaps no other country in the world, having a complex history of colonization, a fascinating range of peoples, and religions and haunting geographical wonders. The love of color is one of the most notable characteristics of the Indian people and, unquestionably, an innate part of its unique visual excitement. The numerous cultures, religions and conquerors are reflected by this wonderfully idiosyncratic society and are naturally translated into the objects they create. India's eclectic architecture draws from a myriad of styles. For thousands of years it has absorbed and adapted these immense influences. The eccentric expression existing in India today is perhaps because it is a country which appears to dwell in several different centuries all at once. Because of the diversity of influences that make up Indian design, it has an ageless yet ancient ambience, which makes it adapable to almost any setting in which it is found. |

About Our Business We have been traveling to India for over 30 years and have developed good relationships with several generations of Indian merchants. As some of the photos on this site attest - many were taken at the location where we were doing business. The crafts made in India are as unique as the people who produce them and is something that always draws us back. |
